Pain Can Lead Us To Our Purpose

Pain Can Lead Us To Our Purpose

How has God blessed you through your pain and struggles in the past?

Job 36:13-15
Those who are godless keep on being angry, and even when punished, they don’t pray for help. 14 They die while they are still young, worn out by a life of disgrace. 15 But God teaches people through suffering and uses distress to open their eyes.

We can’t know that Jesus is all we need, until Jesus is all we have. Have you ever been at the emotional end of a very long journey, to a destination you never wanted to experience? Think back, did blessing ever come out of your pain? God is directing our lives even when we don’t see Him or have a clue of what He is doing.

Psalm 37:23-24
The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; 24 though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.

When we look to other philosophies or world views to give us clarity, understanding and direction, instead of God and His word, He loves us enough to allow pain to redirect our journey and bring us to the only place where true joy and peace of mind can be experienced.

“For the Christian, there can be joy in the midst of suffering, joy that transcends the pain of the moment. But we don’t really understand the grounds for this joy in the house of mirth. We discover it in the house of mourning. It is in weeping that we learn to contemplate the goodness of God. It is in mourning that we discover the peace of God that passes understanding.”
