Living A Life Of Purpose And Peace

Living A Life Of Purpose And Peace

Fear and doubt cause us to become complacent or anxious. Either we give into our fears and become a bump on a log, or we live in fear and doubt with restless worry and nervous concern. Is there anything you believe God wants to do but you’ve let fear and doubt keep you from stepping forward in faith? If we want to have a life of purpose and passion, then self-doubt needs to be delt with in the Lord’s strength.

John 14:27
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

When we were young, we had an incredible ability to believe in our dreams. Our imaginations ran wild with possibilities, and we knocked down obstacles without hesitation. Unfortunately, age tends to steal our willingness to step out in faith and our imagination is replaced by the “What if’s” of life. Our hearts become troubled as we focus on what could go wrong and our passion is replaced by anxiety.

God has plans for your life that require trusting Him. He wants us to live the kind of lives that will require His intervention to be successful. Risk is a part of living a life that honors Him. Doubt causes us to shut down and not get involved in the lives of others.

Courage is not the absence of fear, it’s the willingness to move forward while trusting God’s direction even though we are afraid of what might be ahead of us on an unknown road. Our peace comes from a life of purpose.

Psalm 23:4
Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

Our protection and comfort come from the Lord, not from neglecting to get involved because of our doubts and fears. Don’t let fear and doubt defuse your passion for life and your willingness to trust God.
