People say they are living their best life on social media, but anxiety medication is becoming a bigger problem each year. How can so many people be so depressed in reality, and so happy on social media?
How can we live our best lives in reality and not virtually?
Philippians 3:7-9
7 But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. 8 What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith.
We are as close to God as we choose to be. If we feel like we are distant from God, any guesses as to, who moved? Sometimes we blame God, family, friends, or our spouse, but the only one responsible for our distance from God is us. I think one of the most important questions to ask yourself is where do I spend my time? Is knowing and experiencing God where I spend most of my time or am I filling life with the things of this world? Loving God back is a privilege and our greatest pleasure. The problem is, if we take an honest look at our lives, we might discover that we love the temporary things of this world more than Jesus.
Isaiah 40:31
But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
What would people say is most important to you, based on what you talk about most? My daughter keeps getting promoted at her work. Everywhere I go, I can’t help but proudly talk about her accomplishments. We all seem to love talking about our kids because they are so important to us. Do we brag about Jesus with the same passion and joy? How can you adjust your life, so that getting to know Jesus becomes your top priority?
What is the Holy Spirit saying to you through these scriptures?
