Are you sure of your salvation or do you struggle with doubt?
Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
Ephesians 2:8-9
“It is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.”
John 5:24
“Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.
What makes us sure of our salvation? The promise of God’s Word. We can trust the promise of God’s word because God doesn’t lie.
There was an important conversation between Jesus and one of the criminals that Jesus was crucified with, that give us even greater insight into God’s grace.
Luke 23:42-43
Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”43 Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
The criminal didn’t ask Jesus to save him from death, he said, “Jesus, remember me.” Why? Because he believed Jesus was the Lord. It’s important to remember that our assurance of salvation doesn’t come from what we do, because we can’t earn our salvation. It’s about what He did for us, once and for all.
