Are There Negative Effects Of Conflict In Your Life Today?

It takes courage to face conflict and unforgiveness. Fear can cause us to not deal with broken areas of relationships, especially with those who are closer to us.

Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Unforgiven conflict causes harmful effects in our lives. It impedes our happiness. When we are quarreling with someone it affects our peace of mind. It weighs us down and consumes our thoughts and feelings.

Matthew 6:12-15
And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’ 14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Unforgiven conflict frustrates our prayers. When our life is characterized by conflict and disharmony, our prayers are blocked by our sin. It complicates our fellowship with God. When We’re experiencing discord with others, we can’t be in harmony with God. But when we forgive, anxiety gives way to peace of mind and intimacy with God.

Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

2 Timothy 2:23-25
Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. 24 And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. 25 Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth.
