Week One Advent: HOPE

Week One Advent: HOPE

We will spend the next four weeks looking at the meaning of Advent. Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love.

The first Sunday of Advent gives us the opportunity to focus our thoughts on the gift God has given us, in His son Jesus Christ, who gives us eternal hope.

It’s a beautiful chance to remember the hope God offers to those who are lost and hurting, through faith in Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 40:31
But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

You promised in the Old Testament that You would provide a way for us to be with You for eternity.

Isaiah 7:14
All right then, the Lord himself will give you the sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us’.

Help us to see that You are with us. Nothing is too difficult for You.

That first Christmas You gave us the gift of hope wrapped in swaddling clothes and laid in a manger. Jesus, would live a sinless life, and conquer sin and death for us, if we put our faith in Him and believe.

Thank you, Father, for Your immeasurable gift. Our hope is in You alone!

What is the Holy Spirit saying to you through these scriptures?
