Truth Blesses Everyone

Truth Blesses Everyone

Galatians 5:13-15
You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. 14 For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” 15 If you bite and devour each other, watch out, or you will be destroyed by each other.

In today’s world the growth of society is judged by the speed of communication, instead of the value and truth of what is communicated. Social media tells us to indulge in the things of this word to get what we need for pleasure and purpose. This lie takes us into a blackhole of pain and consequences. God’s truth blesses everyone.

Society starts rotting when common sense becomes uncommon. When we give up on God’s truth we die inside. All dead things flow downstream no matter how treacherous the waters get. Only living things can go against the current to find safe and peaceful waters. Truth can understand error, but error can’t grasp truth. It takes humility to learn and grow. Our maturity and integrity are put to the test when we are wrong. Rather than doubling down on stupid, we need to humble ourselves and ask for forgiveness. A pretentious apology is just an excuse for another insult.

Galatians 5:16-17
So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.

If the flesh controls the body, then we will be enslaved to it. The Spirit and the flesh have different appetites, and this is what creates so much anxiety. Only the Holy Spirit enables us to overcome the flesh. If we are led by the Holy Spirit, then we will stop being controlled by the flesh. Let’s stop listening to the many voices of our society and instead be committed to the audience of One through the truth of His word.
