Jeremiah was an Israelite priest and prophet who served in Jerusalem for decades during the end of Southern Judah. God had him warn Israel that there would be severe consequences for breaking their covenant with God through idolatry and misusing their power and authority. Babylon would be used to bring judgement on Israel. Jerusalem would be destroyed, and the people would be forced into exile. Jeremiah was called to stand his post and witness all these prophecies taking place as God’s people suffered.
Just because something is difficult doesn’t mean we should move on. Where has God called us to stand in the gap, even at great cost? This series will equip us suffer well and trust God to be our strength and our fortress when life’s storms seem endless. Just like He did with Jeremiah, the Lord will be faithful to fulfill all His promises as we continue to stand our post. This book ends with new prophecies of deliverance and hope for God’s people when they repent for their sin and trust the Lord in obedience. The same is true for us here as we hold on to God’s word and stand our post of service.

“This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel after that time,” declares the Lord. “I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.
