Hebrews 13:1-3
Hebrews: Truth That Transforms (Series)
The evidence of faith should be seen by how we live.
Hebrews 13:1-2
Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. 2 Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.
Enjoying spiritual fellowship through brotherly love. These Hebrew Christians new what it was like to be rejected by their family and friends. A church that’s foundation is anything other than their love for Christ and for other Christians, will not endure.
Hebrews 13:3
Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.
To minister to a Christian prisoner in the name of Christ is to minister to Christ Himself. (Matthew 25:31-46)
Romans 13:9-13
Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. 10 Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. 11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. 12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. 13 Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.
This is what mature faith looks like. All saints should be committed to hospitality. What part of this verse do you hear the Holy Spirit encouraging you submit to and act on?
