Prayers Of Trust

Prayers Of Trust

Most of the time we pray safe prayers. God bless us, help us, protect us, and heal us, but prayers that trust can be risky. Risky prayers are not easy, but they are changing life. They are the result of a humbled and trusting spirit and are filled with bold faith. I want to encourage you to spend three times this week reading the scriptures below and praying that the Holy Spirit will speak to you about what He wants you give over to Him. My prayer is that you will be transformed because you have heard from God.

Lord, Search Me Jeremiah 17:9-10
“The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is? 10 But I, the Lord, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve.”

Lord, Break Me Psalm 27
The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God.

Lord, Send Me Isaiah 6:5-8
“Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.” 6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. 7 With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.” 8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”

Lord, search me, break me, send me. These are powerful but costly prayers. Costly, because you are saying to the Lord, “I give up my will because I trust you more than I trust myself.” Every time I have laid down my will, so I can hear, receive and act on God’s will, I have been blessed beyond what I could have expected.

What is God asking you to put aside and then what is He asking you to replace it with? Are you willing to pray a trusting prayer to the Lord?

What is the Holy Spirit saying to you through these scriptures?
