Matthew 7:21
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
The final test is not what we think or what others think. The final test is, what will God say?
(Romans 5:5, Romans 8:9)
Matthew 7:22-23
Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
Words and religious works are not a substitute for obedience of a new life.

Matthew 7:24-25
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.
This house remind us that true faith in Jesus will last. In the storms of life and in the final judgment.
Matthew 7:26-27
But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
Both men built houses that looked good and solid. But when the storm came, only one of the houses collapsed. What was the difference?
Matthew 7:28-29
When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, 29 because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law.
The scribes and Pharisees spoke from the teaching of other authorities. They quoted other rabbis and experts of the Law. Jesus didn’t need to add the authority of others to His teaching. He spoke as the Son of God.
